Grim Legends 3: The Dark City for AND, PC and etc. is the third instalment in the casual HOPA adventure game series, one of the most popular productions of Artifex Mundi, specialized in this very genre.

Plot

The plot has no connection to the earlier games in the franchise. In Grim Legends 3: The Dark City you play as an amnesiac girl called Sylwia, an acolyte of the monster-hunting Order. When a powerful artefact, containing a malevolent being known as the Nightmare, is stolen from the Order's headquarters, Sylwia and her mentor embark on a quest to find it. During her journey she fights not only the forces of evil, lurking in the underground of a grim gothic city of Lichtenheim, but also the dark secrets of her own past.

Mechanics

The mechanics of Grim Legends 3: The Dark City follows closely in the footsteps of other titles by Artifex Mundi. It's an adventure game with an absorbing plot, and the gameplay focuses on searching incredibly detailed locations, which are filled with many hidden elements and some mini-games. The items you find are used to solve logic puzzles, which further reveal the plot to you.

Like many other games by Artifex Mundi, Grim Legends 3: The Dark City was released in both regular and collector's editions, in the latter of which there is an extra adventure to participate in.

Technical aspects

Grim Legends 3: The Dark City for AND, PC and etc. features attractive hand-drawn graphics, characteristics for the majority of Artifex Mundi's productions. This time the visuals were inspired by the works of Zdzislaw Beksinski and Western European gothic architecture, the result being colourful and captivating but also dark and unsettling at the same time. It's complemented by a well-matched soundtrack, and the game was well-optimized for both stationary and popular mobile platforms.
