A crazy shooter which is a refreshed version of the 1982 classic. We are in charge of a small spaceship and our task is to eliminate the hordes of enemies. The key to success is the efficient use of special movements and the careful collection of power-ups. The graphics have been modernized and enriched with many crazy light effects, but still retains the atmosphere of the original.
Gridrunner+++ is another, next to Space Giraffe remake of a very old game prepared by Llamasoft company, whose founder is Jeff Minter, author of the original Gridrunner from 1982. As in the case of that edition, we are dealing here with a typical, cosmic shump, although of course it has a much better graphic design and a little lower level of difficulty compared to the original from years ago.
Our task is not complicated - we just have to try to get as many points as possible by eliminating opponents and catching bonuses. Again, in order to achieve the best results, it is helpful to master and skillfully use special moves (so-called key-moves) and collect various power-ups. Particular emphasis has been placed on effects related to the use of weapons - for example, the gravitational fields present on the board curve the trajectory of the movement of projectiles fired.
The graphics in Gridrunner++++ are extremely colourful and quite simplified, but this makes them very clear. New special effects and psychedelic backgrounds make a good impression. Specially for older players or simply for fans of oldschool productions, the creators have also prepared a mode that is a faithful simulation of the original version of Gridrunner with Commodeore Vic-20 and C64.
