A sequel of the very popular Polish survival game from 2019. Green Hell 2 once again forces us to fight for survival in the jungle, dealing with various deadly threats. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and supports both singleplayer and coop modes.
Green Hell 2 is the sequel of a popular survival game in which we fight for survival in the jungle. The series was launched in 2019 by the game Green Hell. The development of the sequel was handled by the Polish studio Creepy Jar, founded in 2015 by former employees of Techland. Over time, developers from Flying Wild Hog, CD Projekt RED, People Can Fly, and CI Games have joined them.
The first part of the Green Hell series first appeared on personal computers, and over time it also made its way to consoles and received a port developed by Incuvo for virtual reality headsets (titled Green Hell VR). After the artistic and commercial success it achieved, the creation of the sequel seemed to be a matter of time.
Before the authors started working on Green Hell 2, they first decided to make a kind of "sidestep" and develop another, albeit related genre project, namely a cooperative science fiction survival game titled StarRupture. Only when the latter began to approach its debut in Early Access, the proper production process of Green Hell 2 supposedly began, preceded by a phase of conceptual work. The creation of the first prototypes of the sequel was entrusted to a team that gained experience in developing add-ons to the first installment of the series.
Green Hell 2 draws inspirations both from the first part of the series and from StarRupture. The game will be be based on Unreal Engine 5 and will also offers a coop mode on launch (which was included in the first part of the series only as part of one of the later free updates).
