The second part of the tennis sports game by EA Sports, in which we will compete for cups at the most famous tournaments and face the best players in the world. The developers have introduced major changes to the control model to give players greater control over the tennis player's moves. The S.I. of computer opponents has also improved.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 is the debut of the series on the consoles that support HD graphics, because the first installment in the cycle was released in 2009 exclusively on Wii. Like all the flagship sports titles of EA Sports, Grand Slam Tennis 2 uses the official tennis federation licenses. They allow it to put in the game the most famous tournaments, including the Australian Open, French Open, US Open, or Wimbledon. They also give you the opportunity to assume the role of or play against the world's best tennis players, such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Bjorn Borg, Maria Sharapova and Serena and Venus Williams.

Besides improved graphics, the game introduces major changes in the control model. It is designed to give players more control over the movements performed by the tennis player. Using only the right analog stick, you can perform most of the deflections and serves which makes them more accurate and more realistic. For those preferring the standard solutions, the developers prepared additional controls of pressing the appropriate buttons on the pad.

The AI of the computer opponents was also enhanced. It captures the style of play and strategies of the best players, but also the emotions and behaviors typical for them on the court, which we observe during television broadcasts. What's more, they constantly adapt to our skill and provide a challenge for even the most seasoned veterans of virtual tennis.

In the career mode, the players slowly climb in the rankings and fight for more titles and trophies, which will be the crowning victory in the most important tennis events in the world. In addition, all players can test their strength in a special historic mode that reproduces the 25 most important matches in the history of tennis.

The creators abandoned the exaggerated and cartoonish graphic design of the original, which was implemented partly due to Wii's hardware limitations, in favor of high quality photorealistic graphics supported with motion-capture animations.
