Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Description
Prologue is a product designed to be a foretaste of the attractions offered by the full version of the fifth installment of the Gran Turismo cycle. A similar move has already been made with the fourth installment of this series. Prologue has selected elements of the final version of Gran Turismo 5, especially vehicles and routes. Very strong emphasis was also placed on the possibility of participating in multiplayer games. As part of the curiosity it is worth mentioning that Prologue savings can be used in the full version of the program, so as to enable a faster and more comfortable start.
In this "test" version of GT5 we can get acquainted with about forty vehicles from the final product. Unfortunately, this does not mean that all machines are fully playable. Some vehicles are reserved exclusively for computer opponents. The list of machines available in the game includes both newer and older models of cars. These include Audi R8, Alfa Romeo Brera 3.2 JTS Q4, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, Ferrari F430, Alfa Romeo 147 TI 2.0 Twin Spark, Audi TT, Lotus Elise, BMW Z4, Renault Clio Renault Sport V6, Ford Mustang GT, Acura NSX, Dodge Viper or Nissan Xanavi Nismo Z. The cars are available in serial and tuned versions. Unfortunately, the Prologue version does not provide for the possibility of racquetting your own machines. We compete on four different tracks, including the well-known Japanese Suzuce.
As has already been said, a lot of emphasis has been placed on the online aspect of the game. Prologue offers full support for the PlayStation Home product, so you can become part of the online world of Gran Turismo. This allows you to compare your results with your friends' achievements, among other things. We can also participate in online tournaments. A maximum of twelve players can take part in multiplayer competitions. In the case of races played exclusively with computer opponents, this limit increases up to sixteen vehicles. The game's visual setting obviously presents the highest possible level of performance. The manufacturer took care both of the detailed models of vehicles and the rich in details environment. For the first time in the history of the Gran Turismo series, it is also possible to choose a camera from inside the vehicle, showing the entire cockpit.
