Gotyx is a web-based economic strategy that takes place in the Middle Ages. Players participating in it develop their principalities starting from one small settlement and ending with the leadership of large associations of principalities. It is a great fun for fans of the Middle Ages and fans of strategy games. And thanks to its online character, it gives the possibility of simultaneous gameplay with hundreds of other players.
During the game, the player develops his principality through economic development, building various buildings, such as: farms, sawmills, sheepfolds, slaughterhouses, and the exchange of goods between other settlements and principalities. It can also trade with bazaars and thalers. If he gains enough resources and trained knights or riders, he may be tempted to expand militarily in order to conquer more settlements. At any time he can join a union of principalities (players) or establish a new union to which other principalities (players) will join. Being in a union entails certain obligations in the form of paying tithing to the union's storehouse and adapting to the policy pursued by the union's hegemony (the duchy that founded the union). It also gives many benefits in the form of receiving the so-called union contingent, i.e. knights who support our warriors in military operations and help during the period of famine, then our settlements get grain from the union warehouse. Every ruler of the principality can build military buildings such as barracks, towers, castle and walls in his settlements. One of the factors that play an important role in the life of the GOTYX world is religion. Any player may profess Islam, Catholicism, Orthodoxy or Indigenousism. The game is turn-based, 1 turn = 1-2 hours and the whole game lasts about 3 months. The salt in the eye of the players are the so-called "rebels". It is a principality-union consisting of poorly managed settlements, which rebelled against their former lords. Additionally, from time to time an epidemic of "moraine air" erupts in some area, which drastically reduces the population of inhabitants in the settlements.
A great advantage of the game is the presence of a map, which shows the location of settlements, principalities, associations and routes of attacks and transport routes. In addition, all players have access to the discussion forum of the game and closed trade union discussion groups where action plans and policies of different principalities are established.
