GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Description
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for PS3 and X360 is a first person shooter that casts the player in the role of James Bond. It is an improved edition of 2010's GoldenEye 007 for Wii - a remake of the original game, once very popular among Nintendo 64 users. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded was developed by the creators of the remake for Wii - the Eurocom studio.
Story
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for PS3 and X360 is loosely based on the 1995's film. 007's mission begins in Arkhangelsk, USSR, where a secret laboratory is producing chemical weapons at a heavily guarded military facility. Later on, the player is taken to different locations around the world, such as Monte Carlo, St. Petersburg, Cuba or Kyrgyzstan. The main difference between the film and the game is the fact, that instead of Pierce Brosnan, the main part is played here by Daniel Craig.
Gameplay
The singleplayer campaign does not bring any differences in comparison to the earlier edition for Wii. However, it was enriched with an additional game mode - MI6 Ops Missions. It is a set of separate, non connected missions, which take the player back to the locations from the story campaign. These missions include four kinds of goals: Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense. This resembles the Spec Ops mode present in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In contrast to the original game for Nintendo 64, the gameplay mechanics were substantially improved. Thus the protagonist has more skills and health regenerates automatically when Bond remains at a safe spot for a while.
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for PS3 and X360 features an extensive multiplayer mode, which was also a hallmark of the original game released for Nintendo 64. Up to sixteen players can meet in a multiplayer session, which is twice as much as the Wii edition could handle. The game offers many maps, weapons, characters and modes. It also supports matchmaking, rankings and an ample set of statistics. Traditionalists will have the opportunity to play in the split-screen mode, in which, four players can meet in total.
Technical aspects
As the improved edition, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded offers better, high definition visuals working at 60 frames per second. A significant progress in graphic quality is noticeable. Also, the creators implemented a set of graphic effects, which are not supported by the less powerful gaming systems. The PS3 version supports an additional controller, that is, PlayStation Move optionally extended to Sharp Shooter. These are both non-required however, thus the player can enjoy the game with a gamepad in their hands as well.
