Gods of Rome Description
Gods of Rome for Android is a mobile fighting game featuring mythological gods, titans and gladiators as the main cast. It was developed by the French company, Gameloft, known from Sniper Fury, as well as from such series as Modern Combat, Asphalt and Dungeon Hunter. It employs a typical free-to-play model with microtransactions.
Plot
Gods of Rome takes us to an antic-like universe. It contains elements known from ancient Greece and Rome, including some history but mainly focusing on mythology. The game’s world is inhabited by gods, titans and other fantastic creatures, taken from beliefs of people of that time.
Gameplay
Gods of Rome is 1vs1 fighting game for AND, iOS and WP. The combat mechanics are inspired by other mobile games, such as Injustice: Gods Among Us, Marvel Contest of Champions and Mortal Kombat X. We do not have complete control over our fighter and only perform taps and gestures to activate various attacks and special moves. Taking the roles of fighters are mythological gods (not only Roman, in spite of the title, as we will also find several Greek deities in the roster), titans and gladiators: characters’ list includes Mars, Athena, Atlas and Spartacus, among numerous others.
Game modes
Gods of Rome for AND, iOS and WP offers a expansive single player campaign, during which we unlock new characters, as well as an obvious asset in this genre - online multiplayer mode. The latter allows us to fight people from entire world, but to do so it requires special items (Divine Keys), found in the course of the aforementioned campaign or bought for real money.
Technology
Gods of Rome looks fairly convincing. Three dimensional effects, arenas filled with details and nicely animated characters built from many polygons make it impossible to pass by Gameloft’s title indifferently. This positive impression is further reinforced by the accompanying visual and lighting effects.
