Godfire: Rise of Prometheus, released on AND and iOS, is a third-person action game set in the realities of Greek mythology belonging to the hack'n'slash genre. The title was created by Vivid Games, authors of such mobile hits as Real Boxing or Ski Jumping Pro. Platige Image, winners of BAFTA award and Oscar nominees, also worked on the game.
Plot
In Godfire: Rise of Prometheus, we play the role of mythical hero Prometheus, who steals the title spark of God from the hosts of Olympus intending to share its power with all mankind. In the aftermath of this event, a powerful war broke out in heaven with the Titans, who wanted to regain their most precious property. Prometheus is victorious, but his loot is lost when he falls to the Earth's surface. Our hero descends among the mortals to face the creatures sent by the gods, recover the spark of God and achieve his goal.
Mechanics
Godfire: Rise of Prometheus is a classic hack'n'slash that mechanically refers to the iconic God of War series from PlayStation. The gameplay boils down mainly to exploration and battles with waves of varied opponents - including the more demanding fights with bosses, such as Minotaur, Scylla or Lamia. The combat system is quite complex and requires the player to skillfully combine dodges, blocks and two types of attack. It is complemented by spectacular finishers and a special fury bar, which, after charging, allows you to perform powerful combos. It is also worth mentioning the possibility of modifying the equipment with artifacts and the character development system modeled on RPGs, which allows you to improve the hero's parameters by gaining new levels of experience.
Technical aspects
The advantage of Vivid Games production is animations made with the use of motion capture technology and high-quality graphics. Godfire: Rise of Prometheus also features numerous cut-scenes, simple QTE sequences (quick time events) and full voice-over.
