An open world economic strategy game set in a fantasy universe. It was developed by the independent studio, Robotronic Games. The game is deprived of any storyline which could be highlighted - the player is taken to a randomly generated open world, leading a group of gnomes. Having limited supplies, the creatures wish to settle down and establish a kingdom in these unknown areas.

Gnomoria for PC is the first game created by an independent Robotronic Games studio. The creators offer an extensive strategy game inspired by Dwarf Fortress, Dungeon Keeper or series such as Anno, The Settlers or The Sims. It is an extensive strategy game which puts the player in the shoes of a leader of gnomes building their kingdom.

Gameplay

It is an open world game deprived of any storyline. The player controls a group of gnome colonizers willing to establish a settlement. They have little supplies, and their goal is to build up a lively kingdom in these undiscovered areas.

Gnomoria for PC is an open world game, thus the player is free to re-shape the randomly generated in-game environments. The gameplay consists mainly of gathering resources, which can be used to create various useful items or to construct new buildings, such as houses, mines, keeps or workshops. It is very important to cater for the gnomes. The player has to provide them with food, water, shelter, and items such as weapons, tools or beds.

To give orders to the subordinates, the player points an area and chooses an option from the menu window. The player does not assume the roles of particular gnomes, but a role can be assigned to each of them, such as a miner, a farmer or a builder.

Technical aspects

Gnomoria for PC offers retro-style visuals. The game is played from an isometric view. It has two-dimensional graphics with reduced color palette, and a deliberately highlighted pixellation effect. The aesthetics are complemented by a dynamic midi soundtrack.
