Glitchspace is a first-person puzzle game developed for PCs. The production was created by Space Budgie studio employees.
Story
Glitchspace takes place in a cyberspace with an unusual appearance, inspired by the work of Dutch painter Piet Mondarin. He was the father of neoplasticism, one of the earliest directions postulating geometric abstraction in painting, using mainly straight lines, rectangles and basic colours.
The player takes on the role of a hacker, who is able to manipulate the geometry of the virtual world using a visual programming language. His task is to discover the truth about who built the reality he explored and for what purpose. We get to know most of the story by looking for errors in the program - they allow us to uncover the secrets of the creators of the virtual land.
Mechanics
In Glitchspace we observe the action from a first person perspective, and the fun is mainly about overcoming obstacles and solving puzzles. The programming of reality is based on a simple interface that allows for quick and easy implementation of desired changes, but at the same time the foundations of these activities use the basic principles applied in other, more complex languages of this type, so we can learn a lot of useful things while having fun.
This whole system is very flexible and allows us to change almost every element of reality, from object functions, through their physical properties, to links with other objects. As a result, most puzzles have many alternative solutions.
Game modes
The basic mode of the game is a campaign, offering a large set of levels, allowing you to discover the story step by step. There is also a sandbox mode, devoid of traditional tasks, in which we can freely play with programming the environment.
