Mechanics
Gleamlight is based on traversing successive levels, avoiding traps and battling enemies (there were also boss fights), with the use of melee weapons. While playing, players canrun, jump and use their weapons to destroy surrounding objects.
The lack of a game interface also has a big influence on the gameplay. The player does not have any tools to help them move through the levels and have to find the right way by himself/herself.
Technical aspects
Gleamlight's visuals are reminiscent of stained glass. The whole thing is complemented by the use of the cel-shading technique.
