Giraffe and Annika

Giraffe and Annika is a 3D adventure game for Switch, PS4 and PC. Players take on the role of Annika, a girl with cat ears, who explores the unusual island of Spika and tries to regain her lost memories. Atelier Mimina and Unties are responsible for creating this production.

Mechanics

In terms of game mechanics, Giraffe and Annika is a typical three-dimensional action-adventure game. Watching the game from TPP, the player controls the girl and explores the surroundings, collects items, talks with the characters he encounters, and battles enemies. The production of Atelier Mimina uses an unusual, music-based combat system. At the end of each extensive dungeon, we have a battle with a powerful boss. When exploring locations, we must also watch out for dangerous traps - e.g. rolling or falling stones. The aim of the game is to pass through all levels and get to know the story, which is presented mainly through hand-drawn, comic-book panels.

Game modes

Giraffe and Annika on Switch, PS4 and PC offers single player mode only.

Technical issues

Giraffe and Annika is powered by Unreal Engine 4. The game features decent three-dimensional visuals. The game world is distinguished by its characteristic, fairy-tale-like atmosphere. The characters are drawn in manga style - the same style in which the partially animated storyline panels are made.
