Ghost Master: Resurrection Description
Ghost Master: Resurrection is a remake of the 2003 strategy game that allowed us to command an army of ghosts. The remake was developed by the Polish team Mechano Story Studio (previously focusing mainly on porting games) and published by Strategy First.
Gameplay
Ghost Master: Resurrection takes us to the small town of Gravenville. During the game we take on the role of the titular Ghost Master. Our primary goal is to scare people and increase their belief in the supernatural, and we do all this by sending all sorts of ghosts, ghouls, and other horrors into the mortal world. Missions from the game take place in various locations, such as a psychiatric hospital, a police station, a military base, or a corporate headquarters.
We are provided with spirits that vary in appearance, available abilities, as well as strengths and weaknesses. Among them we will find grim specters, howling banshees, cunning gremlins, and ghosts associated with specific locations. As we progress, we expand the range of our subordinates, and with the help of so-called golden plasma, we unlock their new powers.
Plasma plays an extremely important role here, as its basic variant constitutes the main resource in the game. It is generated by the fear our spirits instill in mortals, and it is used to utilize the supernatural abilities of ghosts. In order to scare a living person as much as possible, it is worth knowing their conscious and subconscious fears (we can use that knowledge against them, unleashing a specific specter). We should also focus on gradually increasing their belief in supernatural phenomena (the higher it is, the more effective our actions are).
When a certain person reaches a specific level of terror, they flee from the location. Scaring an individual can also make them crazy, which after exceeding a critical value will cause them to go mad (in this state they will no longer react to our actions). Not everyone is afraid of our ghosts, as mediums, witches, priests and so-called Ghostbreakers can banish them. Due to the fact that an exiled spirit cannot be summoned back to a given level, our main goal is to prevent this from happening.
Improved graphics and other new features
Ghost Master: Resurrection stands out compared to the original thanks to its refreshed graphics. The presentation is still maintained in the cartoon style known from the 2003 game. Additionally, the list of new features implemented in the remake includes previously unavailable challenges and secrets, as well as improvements related to mechanics.
