Ghost Bike is a third-person cycling sports game developed by Messhof, a studio founded in 2013 by Mark Essen and Kristy Norindr. It was published by Annapurna Interactive, also known for publishing such games as We Kill Monsters and Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth.
Plot
We play as a streetwise kid from Freehub City, undertaking a difficult quest - repairing the last existing Ghost Bike. It is a magical courier of sorts, able to traverse the worlds of the living and the dead. Both the protagonist and the Ghost Bike head down into the underworld to save the lost souls of Wheel World.
Mechanics
The gameplay revolves around exploring a semi-open world and undertaking various challenges. We'll meet many wacky NPCs along the way, ranging from crazy fans and troublesome tourists to other cyclists.
Our character wishes to reach the underworld and restore the cycling spirit to Wheel World. First, however, they need to fix the abandoned, forgotten Ghost Bike. We can upgrade and customize the magical vehicle using scattered bicycle parts. We must also participate in various competitions testing our speed and skills to regain the power of the bike's spirit.
Technical aspects
Ghost Bike features 3D visuals, its diverse, stylized locations being especially appealing. The soundtrack was composed by artists from the Italians Do It Better music label.
