GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon

Mechanics

Getsufumaden: Undying Moon is a 2D side-scrolling platform game. It is about moving around the map (often we have to jump and use the hero's abilities to get to certain places) and fighting with the appearing enemies (including powerful bosses - e.g. five-headed hydra or giant scolopendra).

In battles we use an assortment of cold weapons (such as katanas, spears or... combat umbrellas), which can be strengthened over time. Dexterity and a good sense of rhythm are key - we have to avoid attacks made by enemies. We also have access to various special attacks and reinforcements gained by devouring the souls of fallen enemies.

It is worth noting that Getsufumaden: Undying Moon has mechanics associated with the roguelite / roguelike subgenre. After death, we keep our unlocked reinforcements, and the game world changes - each approach looks a little different.

Game modes

In Getsufumaden: Undying Moon we can only play solo. The core of the gameplay is the story campaign.

Technical aspects

Getsufumaden: Undying Moon has a beautiful, 2D graphics. Colourful locations, backgrounds, as well as models and animations of individual characters and monsters make a great impression here (especially spectacular are the effects accompanying the more deadly special attacks and powers of the main character).
