Garage Description
Garage is a brutal splatterpunk-inspired action game developed by Zombie Dynamics, an independent studio, and released for Nintendo Switch by tinyBuild Games.
Plot
Garage introduces us to a former drug dealer named Butch. His story begins in a underground parking lot which also serves as a pathway to a mysterious underground world inhabited by beings taken out of class B horror movies. Having entered this horryfing universe, Butch decides to pick-up a weapon and solve the mystery of this dangerous world.
Mechanics
The action of Garage is shown from a top-down perspective. The gameplay is focused around eliminating hordes of opponents, such as zombies, mutated people and animals, (including bi-headed dogs or bloodthirsty rats) as well as powerful bosses. If that wasn’t enough, the player will also be facing well-armed soldiers.
Fortunately, Butch can use a wide range of weapons, including shotguns and machine guns (the weapons are chosen from a wheel menu), and has the ability to push opponents away through kicks. The game contains additional secrets found in different areas of the game’s levels; moreover, from time to time, our hero will drive a motorcycle, or play football with… a head of the defeated opponent.
Technical Aspects
Garage is characteristic for its immense brutality – blood flows freely and in large quantities. Nevertheless, the game offers pixel-art graphics that give the violence a grotesque quality.
