Gangs of Sherwood

Game mechanics

In Gangs of Sherwood we observe the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game offers us the vast Sherwood forest, over which the flying castle of the Sheriff of Nottingham towers. Our base of operations is a hideout, where Robin and his entourage prepare for their next missions.

Traversing a variety of locations, we try to steal as much as we can from the rich, so that we can then give the captured loot to the poor.... Or leave them for themselves. Accomplishment of this task is not easy, as the places we visit are teeming with enemies. During dynamic clashes, we must make good use of the strengths of each character, who differ from each other in fighting style, preferred weaponry and skills. In addition to ranked soldiers, stronger units and even powerful fighting machines or, finally, bosses stand in our way.

As we progress, we gain reputation, which allows us to unlock upgrades and increasingly devastating attack combinations. In turn, we can spend the gold we acquire on buying increasingly better equipment and modifying our character's abilities.

Game modes

Gangs of Sherwood can be played solo, but the title spreads its wings only in co-op mode for up to four people.

Technical aspects

Gangs of Sherwood features good quality graphics. We especially like the scenic locations, where medieval architecture meets modern elements (cables stretched between buildings) and ideas resembling steampunk (ubiquitous pipes and numerous chimneys).
