Cronos: The New Dawn

Cronos: The New Dawn is a survival horror that takes us to a universe located at the crossroads of retrofuturism and brutalism. The game was developed by Bloober Team - a Polish studio specializing in scaring players, with projects in their portfolio such as The Medium, the Layers of Fear series, or the remake of the cult classic Silent Hill 2.

Plot

Cronos: The New Dawn presents a grim vision of a world devastated by an apocalyptic event known as the Change, which turns it into a barren desert. During the game we embody the Traveler working for the mysterious Collective. The protagonist traverses the wastelands of the future in search of space-time rifts leading to Poland in the 1980s.

While in the future the protagonist's primary goal is survival, in the past he must find the key people who perished during the Change, obtain their essences using a tool known as the Reaper, and do everything in his power to ensure they accompany him to the future.

Gameplay

In Cronos: The New Dawn we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The adventure leads us through various locations, which we can view in two versions - from the past, admiring the brutalist architecture in all its glory, and also from the future, where we have to face the aberrations inhabiting the Earth.

The Traveler fights with bloodthirsty creatures that are the remnants of humanity using firearms or relying on close combat. Their presence and the fact that they usually outnumber us, make us constantly vigilant during the game. We need to demonstrate reflexes, tactical sense and the ability to make quick decisions on the battlefield.
