An action platformer with roguelike elements, developed by Evil Empire studio known for the post-launch support of Dead Cells. The Rogue Prince of Persia offers combat, puzzles and the feature to manipulate time. Levels are procedurally generated and change with each run.
The Rogue Prince of Persia is an action platform game enriched with clearly outlined roguelike elements. This is one of the spin-offs of the Prince of Persia series. The game was created by Evil Empire studio, a development team operating under the wings of Motion Twin, which took over the Dead Cells project in 2019 and provided a number of updates and DLC, including Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania.
The main character of The Rogue Prince of Persia is the titular prince, the son of King Peroz. After Ctesiphon, the capital of his kingdom, fell victim to an invasion by the Huns wielding shamanic magic, the protagonist must embark on a long and dangerous journey to confront the invaders. The prince will eventually transform from a reckless warrior into a fearless hero.
In The Rogue Prince of Persia we watch the action from the side. While traversing various locations, the prince jumps on platforms and avoids traps and terrain obstacles, as well as swings on bars, runs on walls and performs somersaults and other acrobatic movements.
In addition, the protagonist must face opponents such as creatures corrupted by magic and mythical beasts. The hero fights them, making use of melee and ranged weapons, constantly moving and avoiding enemy attacks. As we progress, we collect better equipment, as well as obtain decorations and various improvements, thanks to which we can gradually face greater challenges.
Both during exploration and during duels, it is necessary to use the protagonist's magical bola, which allows him to manipulate time and thus correct mistakes made or even avoid death. Since the individual levels are procedurally generated, each subsequent attempt to defeat the Huns looks different than the previous ones. Between the escapades we end up in an oasis that serves as our base of operations.
The Rogue Prince of Persia has two-dimensional graphics. The game is played to the accompaniment of music, for the recording of which traditional Iranian instruments were used.

May is indeed a crowded month! In addition to these most talked-about titles, there will be a new Prince of Persia, Homeworld 3, and Song of Conquest version 1.0. There will be plenty to play, so make sure to spend May with your family or friends as well.
The Prince of Persia brand made three announcements at this year's Ubisoft Forward. Among them was a new release date for the remake of The Sands of Time, which is unlikely to please fans.

CGMagazine: 9 / 10 by Philip Watson
The Rogue Prince of Persia is a platforming masterclass, and it's a must play for fans of 2D action titles, Dead Cells, and pretty much everyone else.
Impulsegamer: 4 / 5 by Andrew Paul
Ultimately The Rogue Prince of Persia is an exceptional roguelite that honors the legacy of its franchise while forging a new identity that boasts stylised graphics, decent audio and strong gameplay that works perfectly on both the Steam Deck and a PC that will make you come back for more, provided you don't get too frustrated from the roguelite nature – kudos to Evil Empire!
GamesCreed: 3.5 / 5 by Asura Kagawa
The Rogue Prince of Persia has exciting movement, tight fighting, and runs that you can play again and again. It respects your time while daring you to take risks. Even though there isn’t much of a story and the unlockables could be more fun, the joy of chaining wall runs into perfect strikes makes up for this.
