Worshippers of Cthulhu

Worshippers of Cthulhu is an original city builder, drawing heavily from H.P. Lovecraft's work. The game was developed by the Polish studio Crazy Goat Games, whose portfolio includes such projects as Jungle vs. Droids and Republic of Pirates.

Plot

Worshippers of Cthulhu takes us to the universe created for the so-called Cthulhu Mythology. During the game, we play the role of city managers whose inhabitants awaken Cthulhu, Dagon and other Great Old Ones. They hope that in this way they will be able to completely change the world order and elevate existence to the next level.

Mechanics

In Worshippers of Cthulhu we see the action from a bird's eye view. Although the pillar of our activity is the cult of the Great Old Ones, over which we exercise control, our duties are not limited to promulgating the dogmas of celebrating holidays in honor of Cthulhu and similar beings. Those things are still important, because in exchange for them our gods bestow upon us their knowledge and blessings, thanks to which our power grows.

Proclaiming the glory of our powerful lords also involves building a prosperous metropolis from scratch, creating efficient production chains, and when we run out of space - expanding to other islands. Of course, we need labor for everything, and consequently - people, whom we have to manage.

Since not everyone in this world believes in the Great Old Ones, we often have to decide what to do with the unbelievers who are the source of land and resources - convert them to work for the glory of Cthulhu, or pillage the territories they inhabit and sacrifice them.
