An FPP survival horror, in which we explore an abandoned hospital and avoid a terrifying monster inhabiting it. Panicore is about trying to evade the creature and solve the puzzles needed to escape. The game can be played alone, but it's primarily meant for online coop.
Panicore is a survival horror with the gameplay reminding of popular escape rooms. The game was developed by the independent German team ZTEK Studio, which has a similar project in its portfolio - The Devourer: Hunted Souls.
Plot
In Panicore we play as a member of a group of daredevils involved in so-called "urbex" (urban exploration). It's people who enjoy traversing abandoned buildings and delving into the secrets they may hide.
When the protagonists venture into an abandoned hospital, the exploration of which has been banned by local authorities, things get completely out of control. An unknown, powerful force is blocking the way out, and a terrifying monster is hot on our heels. To survive and leave this place in one piece, the heroes must cooperate and try at all costs to outsmart the monster.
Mechanics
In Panicore we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). Walking through gloomy rooms and corridors bathed in darkness, we collect objects scattered around the hospital, such as a canister or a hand-held wood saw, and then use them to solve various puzzles.
The situation is significantly complicated by the fact that a creature inhabiting this building is constantly following our trail. The monster hears our steps, and what's worse, we can't fight it. We have to act quietly and try to hide from the adversary in shadows, cabinets and under tables, When everything else fails, we have no choice but to run.
Game modes
Panicore can be played alone, but the game offers better experience in online coop with other players.
