Desynced Description
Desynced is an economic strategy game with simulation elements, in which we manage an extraterrestrial mining outpost. It was developed by an indie studio Stage Games and published by Forklift Interactive.
Plot
Desynced is set in a sci-fi world. Our playable character's ship ends up malfunctioning in outer space. With no other choice, we must send out drones to the surface of the nearby planet to find resources and build structures needed to repair the vessel. Thankfully, we're not alone, being accompanied by ELAINE - a borderline sentient ship AI.
Mechanics
Desynced makes use of the top-down perspective. We play as a fleet of drones, extracting natural resources from the planet, building structures such as factories, transporting resources and goods between different facilities. Since we're outsiders to the beautiful, yet alien and dangerous planet, our outpost soon becomes a target for the local fauna. We must therefore think of defending it in advance.
Our drones can be fully automated in two ways. More casual players can use a range of configurable parameters, while those seeking a more in-depth experience can delve into complicated script-writing to gain maximum control over all of our machines.
Over time, our base starts expanding, requiring expanding an increasingly complex logistical network, producing and storing increasingly more energy. We'll also unlock more advanced technology to unlock new possibilities, upgrade units and facilities.
Game modes
Desynced supports singleplayer and online multiplayer.
Technical aspects
Desynced features decent, colorful visuals.
