Cytus II

Cytus 2 is a music game prepared for mobile platforms. The production is a continuation of a game published in 2012. The title offers more extensive gameplay and a large number of songs belonging to many genres - electronic, rock, classical music and others. The creators have also prepared an interesting story in the atmosphere of science fiction, which this time is intended for slightly older audiences. Rayark Games, a studio specializing in mobile games (known from the well received action game Implosion: Never Lose Hope, as well as other music titles - Deemo and VOEZ) is responsible for creating and releasing this title.

Plot

Cytus 2 takes place in a futuristic world where the real world merges with the Internet. In the powerful cyTus network there is supposedly a mysterious DJ called AEsir, whose music has extraordinary power - he can make people fall in love with it almost to madness. Apparently, every sound goes to the heart of the listener's very soul. But is there a grain of truth in the legend? Who really is AEsir and what does he or she want?

Mechanics

The gameplay in Cytus 2 is based on principles similar to the first part of the cycle, but the mechanics has been somewhat expanded. The player's task is to listen to the music and touch the screen according to the rhythm of the song (choosing between five different notes). Progress achieved during the game is rewarded with points, so that we can compare our results with other players. We also receive further fragments of the plot, shown in the form of two-dimensional illustrations and animated scenes.

The production of Rayark Games is also enriched by the Active Judgement Line system - hitting the notes at the ideal time enables us to earn extra points. The creators also took care to be able to adjust the game's difficulty level to the expectations of the player - the chosen setting will decide on the songs that we will have to face.

Game modes

Cytus 2 can only be played solo, as the game does not have any multiplayer mode, but it has some limited web functionality - connecting to the Facebook application enables us to share our results with our friends.

Technical aspects

Graphic design of Cytus 2 looks very good. The backgrounds and light effects accompanying subsequent songs are spectacular and nicely animated. Illustrations and animated scenes, through which the story is presented, also make a great impression. The graphics adopt an original, manga style, in which we can find a lot of motifs typical for science fiction movies and games.
