DUCATI: 90th Anniversary - The Official Videogame

DUCATI: 90th Anniversary for PC, PS4 and XONE is a spin-off of the RIDE series, created to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Ducati's birth as a brand – it is a motorcycle racing game created by Milestone studio, specializing in racing titles and popular both for rally games (Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo or the first four installments in the WRC series) and motorcycle racing titles, such as the MXGP and MotoGP series, as well as the direct successor to the latter of these franchises – Valentino Rossi: The Game.

Mechanics

DUCATI: 90th Anniversary for PC, PS4 and XONE combines a typical racing game with a concept of a virtual museum devoted to one of the world's most popular motorcycle brands created back in 1926, in Bologna. Ducati is popular mainly for its racing GP motorcycle models. The game features 39 Ducati's most popular motorcycles in total, and those were divided into seven time periods, beginning with the 1950s. Thus the fans of motorcycles can ride both classic models, such as 125 Desmo (1958), 500 Pantah (1970), 70 F1 (1980) or Monster 900 (1990), as well as newer ones - Monster S4RS Tricolore 848, 1199 Panigale Superlegger or Desmosedici GP15 for instance.

In terms of the riding physics, the game does not bring any differences to what the original RIDE offered. Thus the game is a simulation in full sense of the word, for a small mistake of the player can ruin the opportunity to achieve a high position on the finish line. Fortunately however, plenty of optional simplifications were included, thus one is capable of adjusting the difficulty level in accordance with their individual preferences, which allows the beginners to be able to enjoy the game as well. The player races on one of five open tracks available, including Parco dello Stelvio, Templi di Kanto, Sierra Nevada, Riviera Francese and Galles del Nord. However, the creators did not forget about classic racing tracks, such as Imola, Potrero de Los Funes, Alméria, Road America, Magny Cours, Donington e Sugo or Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Game modes

In terms of the game modes available, DUCATI: 90th Anniversary offers the same set that was previously included in RIDE. Thus the player can take part in single races, time challenges and entire seasons of international competitions that last a virtual year. In the multiplayer sessions, up to 16 players can compete against one another.

Technical aspects

DUCATI: 90th Anniversary for PC, PS4 and XONE utilizes the engine used previously in production of the first installment in the RIDE series - the game does not bring any changes to the visual formula of that title. An extensive informative component included in the game is definitely an alluring addition, thanks to which, fans of motorsports can discover all the technical details of the in-game Ducati models, as well as get familiar with both their history and achievements.
