A two-dimensional arcade game for mobile devices, created by Protostar. The player assumes control of a monkey with remarkable stretching ability. The mechanics of Sling Kong are somewhat similar to the Angry Birds series. Our monkey has the ability to shoot itself, like a sling shot, using its elastic arms in certain points.
Sling Kong for Android and iOS is a fun arcade game designed by Protostar studio, which is famous for its successful racing production Checkpoint Champion. In Sling Kong, we play as a monkey jumping up a tree.
Mechanics
The gameplay in Sling Kong draws a bit from the famous Angry Birds. We shoot the monkey from a sling, just like in the Rovio's game. However, the monkey doesn't destroy anything. Instead, it can grasp special points, which disappear after a few moments (the red ones disappear even faster) - the player must act quickly and remember to avoid various obstacles. The creators prepared a series of traps - from moving platforms, through crushing totems, to fire-breathing flowers. While jumping, it is quite easy to get lost and either fall or get caught by one of these obstacles. Playing Sling Kong requires practice and multiple approaches, during which we constantly beat our results and collect gold coins.
Money is especially useful during special draws. We pull the monkey and shoot it up. Then, we count on luck, because the falling animal will bounce back from the protruding objects, catching some coins, and at the very end fall on another animal, such as a penguin, which is added to our collection of playable characters.
Technical aspects
Sling Kong is not the prettiest mobile game, but the developers have used a funny cartoon graphics style that looks appealing and works just fine during the game.
