Game Tycoon 2

Game Tycoon 2 is an economic strategy game developed for PC. It simulates the process of creating video games. The game was developed by Sunlight Games studio, authors of the first installment in the series.

Plot

In Game Tycoon 2 that was released on PC the player assumes the role of a boss of a small developing studio, members of which are dreaming about conquering the video game market. One can choose from three teams. Each of them has different attributes and starting conditions. The game starts in 1980 and lasts for five decades, till year 2030.

Mechanics

The main objective of Game Tycoon 2 is to create profitable games. One can hire and fire employees, select genres and gaming platforms, decide what the developers should concentrate on. Early in the game the studio is too poor to create games that are polished in every aspect and it is necessary to make hard decisions. One must carefully select technologies the studio will use. All these aspects must be also financially balanced so that the investments are profitable and the bank account isn’t empty.

The game realistically reflects years 1980-2015 and the situation on the virtual market is similar to what actually happened then. 2016-2030 time period is based on the predictions of modern analytics. At first the studio can create games only on consoles and computers, but later it is possible to create productions for mobile platforms.

In addition to consecutive mode, there are also twenty shorter missions available during which player must complete specific goals.
