A humorous, three-dimensional rail shooter by Inti Creates studio and a sequel to 2011 Gal*Gun, a game designed for motion game controllers. We play as an ordinary Japanese high-school student named Hodai, whose life has turned upside-down after he is shot with an arrow by mischievous angel Kurona. This results in every female trying to hit on him in more than aggressive way, after as little as a single glance.

Gal*Gun: Double Peace for PS4, PC and PSV is a humorous, three-dimensional rail shooter, in which we shoot our harmless bullets to fend off over-enthusiastic high-school girls. It has been developed by Japanese Inti Creates studio, established in 1996 by former employees of Capcom, who worked on many entries in Mega Man series. Gal*Gun: Double Peace itself is a continuation of Gal*Gun, which debuted in Japan for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and required motion controllers: PlayStation Move and Kinect, respectively.

Plot

In Gal*Gun: Double Peace for PS4, PC and PSV, we play as Hodai, an ordinary high-school student. His normal everyday life is ruined when he is hit by arrow shot by mischievous angel Kurona. This results in every girl falling in love with him after a single glare and attacking him. To free himself from the curse, Hodai must confess his love to the girl he likes and avoid contact with any other female.

Game mechanics

We observe the game’s world from first-person perspective, and gameplay’s core is a classic rail shooting, with players controlling only the crosshair. This is used to aim a special pistol that shoots pheromones, which drives shot girls to euphoria state and prevent them from reaching Hodai. Most common shooting sequences are interrupted by special moments that require usage of gamepad’s touchpad or PlayStation Vita’s screen. There are many alternate endings depending on the girl we confess to

Game modes

Aside from story campaign with cutscenes stylized for visual novel, the game offers Score Attack mode, in which we try to get the highest score in selected chapters. There are also various costumes for girls to unlock.

Technical aspects

Gal*Gun: Double Peace for PS4, PC and PSV offers colorful visuals resembling modern anime series, which should appeal to fans of Japanese animation.
