A virtual adaptation of a Polish board game of the same title. It has been developed by independent studio Grey Wizard Innovative belonging to Piotr and Ewa Zygadlo, both experienced game developers (Artifex Mundi, Grim Legends 2: Song of the Dark Swan). Galaxy of Trian is set in a science-fiction universe, in which humanity gained access to advanced technology of an alien race, Trian, and uses it to strengthen rivaling nations.

Galaxy of Trian is a virtual adaptation of Polish board game of the same title. The AND, PC and etc. version takes form of two-dimensional turn-based strategy game, with its rules matching the tabletop original. The game has been developed by independent studio of Grey Wizard Innovative, which belongs to Piotr and Ewa Zygadlo. The couple gained developing experience in Artifex Mundi, with Piotr being one of the founding members of the studio and Ewa working Grim Legends 2: Song of the Dark Swan.

Plot

The story of Galaxy of Trian for AND, PC and etc. takes place in galactic recently abandoned by titular Trian, a highly advanced race of aliens. Species which were overshadowed by Trian decide to take this chance and take control of resources left by them to create a new powerful civilization. It is player’s task to bring his race to victory through colonization and conquest.

Gameplay

In Galaxy of Trian, gameplay focuses on adding triangle pieces to the board. They all represent various objects, like planets, space stations, trade routes or nebulas, and each is described by score value. Combining those pieces to create bigger structures that are worth more points is a key to achieving victory. There are also ways to interact with other players, as well as special abilities of each faction. The game ends when all players run out of pieces, and the winner is one with the highest score. Rules are very simple, with gameplay being quite dynamic – moves are done very fast, and most games take no more than an hour to conclude.

Technical aspect

As mentioned previously, Galaxy of Trian for AND, PC and etc. offers two-dimensional visuals – the galactic is represented by flat board consisting of esthetically made pieces.

Misc.

One of the unique features of said title is its cross-platform character. We can freely start playing, for example, on PC, and then finish it using mobile device. On the top of that, multiplayer allows competing with players using different platforms.
