Galactic Civilizations IV: Warlords Description

Galactic Civilizations IV: Warlords is a non-standalone expansion for the grand strategy game titled Galactic Civilizations IV, released in 2022. The DLC was developed by the authors of the base game, namely Stardock studio.

Mechanics

The biggest new feature introduced in Galactic Civilizations IV: Warlords is the ability to create our own military doctrines. They allow us to modify the behavior of the fleet on the battlefield and determine the strategic order of battles, and consequently - partial automation of clashes. Furthermore, the add-on allows us to design new, more complex classes of ships, and also offers the opportunity to delve into detailed reports after each action.

Military doctrines also provide the ability to set our own victory conditions and to pick specific goals before engaging in a given conflict (such as destroying specific bases or conquering specific planets). The goals we set influence the support our campaign will have.
