A turn-based strategy game from the creators of Frozen Synapse. Frozen Cortex is set in the distant future, in which the most popular sport is a futuristic version of American football featuring robot players. During you turn, you plan the moves of your whole team, and then you watch them executed during action sequences, which last several seconds each.

Frozen Cortex for PC is a turn-based strategy game by Mode 7 Games. The production utilizes many features from the studio's previous game, Frozen Synapse.

Mechanics

The game is set in the distant future, when one of the most popular forms of entertainment is robot sports. Mechanical players are pitted against each other in a game resembling the American football. The rules are simple: there are two teams and one ball. You score points by advancing the ball beyond the final line on your opponent's side.

The gameplay consists of two stages. In the planning stage, you have plenty of time to issue orders to all the members of your team. In the action stage, you just watch your orders being executed in short sequences. Thus the gameplay doesn't focus on reacting to your opponent's moves, but on predicting them. Each field features many obstacles, which add some more variety to the gameplay. Frozen Cortex features both a multiplayer mode and a singleplayer mode. The latter allows you to participate in single matches or to play through a whole season with your team.
