First Encounter is the third part of the famous Elite space simulator series. Although the plot of the game hasn't changed much, still allowing freedom in space exploration and mission execution, this is no longer a breakthrough game like the previous parts. However, it is at the forefront of modern 3D graphics solutions, making the appearance of planets even more realistic. On planets we can see atmospheric changes, rainfall and snowfall, and uneven terrain like mountain massifs.
This time we start the game as a cosmic pirate dreaming of a fortune. The road to wealth, however, leads through a series of dangerous combat missions, during which we will have to face mercenaries, the police and prize hunters. Smuggling and trade bring new financial resources, thanks to which we can significantly modify our ship by replacing elements with more modern ones. The plot tells the story of the first meeting of a new aggressive race by a human species, which we will have to face many times.
