Fractured Lands PC

Fractured Lands is an online FPS, which belongs to the popular battle royale genre. It was created by Unbroken, whose members worked on such series as Battlefield, Call of Duty or Medal of Honor.

Mechanics

Fractured Lands is intended exclusively for multiplayer games. The title combines a gameplay model typical of battle royale games with a post-apocalyptic atmosphere, strongly associated with the iconic Mad Max series. At the beginning of the game, a group of daredevils hits a map located in the middle of a desert destroyed by the catastrophe. Each of them is only in possession of an old, rusty car. From now on, their goal is trivially simple - to survive and remain the last living person on the battlefield. To do this, they are forced to sweep through the area in search of new weapons, equipment, supplies and upgrades.

Although you can try to avoid fighting during the match, sooner or later it will become unavoidable. We can tackle our opposition in two ways. The first is a classic firefight. A wide range of ranged weapons can be used - from handguns, through shotguns and rifles, to sniper rifles. But focusing only on dealing with damage can be dangerous. It's also worth looking for the right armor to survive more hits.

The second way is to fight using vehicles. It plays a key role in Fractured Lands and distinguishes the title from other battle royale games. In the course of the game, players find upgrades that can be used to turn their vehicles into real Carmageddon death machines. There is an option to mount armor, machine guns, and even blades and nitroes, which undoubtedly gives a huge advantage in combat. Cars are also useful for a quick escape from the radioactive sandstorm, which constantly limits the battlefield. However, the fuel level should be checked regularly so that it does not run out in the hottest moment. The tank can be replenished with gas found on the map. In crisis situations, there is also an option to steal another player's car, although of course, this involves some risk.

Technical aspects

While making the graphics of Fractured Lands, the creators focused primarily on creating a suggestive atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The visual layer is therefore dominated by different shades of brown and grey. Both weapons and car models, as well as characters, are distinguished by their raw, "dirty" design, emphasizing the brutality of the world. The whole things is complemented by the map layout, full of abandoned buildings, gas stations and structures built of scrap metal.
