Mechanics
Fox n Forests is an old-school 2D side-scrolling platform game. The players must beat levels and fight enemies, including powerful bosses that frequently are the size of a large part of the screen. The main protagonist is a fox equipped with a magic crossbow. The weapon enables him to hit his enemies from distance. It can also be used in close combat. The item is able to change the time of the year. This means that each level features two versions. Using this ability is required to solve challenges that at first might seem to be unbeatable.
Game modes
Fox n Forests for {PLAT} features only a singleplayer mode.
Technical aspects
Fox n Forests for {PLAT} was made to feature atmospheric 16-bit graphics filled with colors. Both characters and levels reference the games that were popular during the nineties and much effort was put into making them.
