FOTONICA is one of the most original runner skill games. In production we play the role of a runner who rushes through unrealistic levels, trying to cover as much distance as possible. The game was shown in an unusual for this genre first-person perspective.

FOTONICA, released on AND, iOS and PC, is a runner-type arcade game by Santa Ragione studio, known for Mirrormoon. The production, distinguished by vector graphics and extremely dynamic gameplay, was first released on mobile devices. Later, its visually improved version was released on PC.

Mechanics

In FOTONICA, the player takes control of a person running at a high speed - up to 140 miles per hour - through abstract levels made with vector graphics. The perspective from which the action is presented is also an element distinguishing the game from other similar positions (e.g. Canabalt, Vector) - we watch the action from the first-person perspective, which adds tension to the gameplay.

In terms of mechanics we are dealing with a very simple production. The character runs when you press the action button and jumps if you release it. This must be done at the right time to jump over chasms. While in the air, the player has to observe the situation all the time and press the action again at the right moment to land on the ground.
