Forza Motorsport 4 Description
Forza Motorsport 4 is the fourth installment of the Xbox 360-exclusive racing game series. The game was expanded with new speedways, cars, and the social options for which it was famous before. Moreover, the title supports Kinect, both while driving and in the menu.
Mechanics
World Tour is one of the new career modes. It consists of competitions taking place in various parts of the world. Subsequent races are presented on a large global map where the camera focuses on a given track.
For the first time in history of the series, some races take place at different times of the day. The change of the graphics engine and lighting model allowed the developers to present both dawn and dusk on every track. Despite that, the screen retains an adequate contrast and cars’ paint finally resembles that which we can see in the real world.
Social features were significantly expanded. Apart from those we already know from the previous games in the series, now every player can form his own car club. What’s interesting, all vehicles left in personal garages are available to the remaining club members. The possibility of renting a car for the single player mode makes it much more non-linear.
One of the most important novelties is the Autovista module. The developers choose a group of extraordinary cars that were modeled incredibly faithfully. This goes for the shape as well as the interior, engine compartment, and other details. Thanks to this, the player has an opportunity to take a peek into each and every nook of a given car, sit behind its wheel, start the engine, and see how the indicators on the dashboard work. Thanks to the incredibly detailed graphics and the new lighting model, we can almost get a feeling that we are dealing with a real racing car. Kinect plays an important part in the process.
Forza Motorsport 4 for X360 also offers a new version of the matchmaking system that searches for opponents online. It works more precisely which ensures that drivers of very similar skills participate in one race.
