Mechanics

The action in Forge of Glory is presented in isometric perspective. During the adventure, we travel through subsequent locations (more than two hundred of them waiting to be visited) and fight with our opponents, gradually developing the hero. With time, our protagonist is joined by more and more powerful characters, like mages, archers or even knights, who actively support him in combat. Additionally, in battle, we can use the help of fantastic creatures - among them dragons. A prerequisite for obtaining such companions is the acquisition of an appropriate soul stone. As we progress, we gain access to increasingly powerful special skills, enabling us to face stronger enemies - including powerful bosses.

What deserves special attention is the original combat system. Clashes with adversaries have been realized based on the match-3 formula. Most of the screen is occupied by a battlefield with characters and enemies, while in the lower right corner we can see a board with several dozen fields, where randomly distributed crystals appear. Offensive activities are activated by manipulating them in such a way as to create strings of at least three stones of the same type. The more elements we manage to combine at the same time, the better is the effect of a specific action.

Nothing stands in the way to devote oneself to the development of one's own settlement, which in time may turn into a real fortress. In this case, the key to success is to take care of its defense - a fortress can be invaded by another player, so leaving it without any defenders (in the form of trained monsters) is not the best idea. However, it works both ways; it is also us who can take on the role of invaders and harass cities belonging to other adventurers.

Technical aspects

Forge of Glory looks decent, to say the least. The three-dimensional visuals were implemented in an eye-catching, cartooning style, and may find some fans.
