For the People Description
For the People is a game that combines elements of simulation, strategy games and visual novel. The game, in which we can test ourselves as a representative of the totalitarian regime, a freshman mayor of a small town, was developed by the independent Russian team Brezg Studio.
Plot
For the People takes us to an industrial town called Iron-1. As Francis River, newly appointed mayor, we have to face up to the problems that afflict this place, at the forefront of a deepening social crisis and a massive economic deficit. Although we will not be able to help all those in need, we must make an effort to fulfil our duty and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants... or, on the contrary, to take care only of our own interests and try at all costs not to disappoint the party behind us, no matter what the cost to citizens. It depends on our actions which of the five ends of the game we see.
Mechanics
In For the People the action is observed from the first person perspective (FPP). During the game, we sit behind the mayor's desk and decide on matters related to the functioning of individual districts of Iron-1. Since we have very limited resources, we have to make the right choices, which makes it easier to obtain additional information, which often shed new light on the subject. As we progress, we not only watch the effects of our activities and face their consequences, but we also gain allies and go deeper and deeper into various political intrigues.
Technical aspects
The graphic design of For the People has been maintained in an almost completely monochromatic colour scheme, which is only "broken" by different shades of orange.
