Follia: Dear Father

Follia - Dear Father is a first-person horror game that takes players to a university campus that has been overrun by deadly dangerous monsters. The game features a high level of brutality and supports virtual reality goggles such as HTC Vive and PlayStation VR. The game was developed by the Italian independent studio Real Game Machine and published by Destructive Creations (creators of Hatred and Ancestors Legacy).

Plot

In Follia - Dear Father players assume the role of Marcus - a man who, after a disturbing phone call, goes to the university campus where his parents work to find them. On the spot it turns out that there is no trace of his familyu, and the place has been taken over by supernatural, deadly and dangerous monsters.

Mechanics

Follia - Dear Father is a survival horror game. In this game, plyers observe the action from the first person perspective. The game focuses on exploring locations, finding various types of objects, and solving puzzles, as well as gradually discovering the plot.

An important element of the game is also sneaking - the hero cannot fight, so in order to survive hr often has to remain hidden and skillfully avoid the monsters prowling the corridors. It is worth noting that each beast has a specific characteristics and behavioral pattern - in order to deal with them, players will have to study them.

Follia - Dear Father offers three different difficulty levels - each player can choose the one that suits them best.

Game modes

One can play Follia - Dear Father alone. The creators did not prepare any multiplayer mode - the basis for the game is a story campaign.

Technical aspects

Follia - Dear Father delivers appealing three-dimensional visuals. The setting well reflects the dark atmosphere of the production, and the monster and location models fulfill their roles, effectively scaring the players. The artists have also prepared an atmospheric soundtrack, which plays a similar role. The feeling of honor is enhanced when players use the VR headgears. The PC version of the game works with the HTC Vive while PlayStation 4 users can use PlayStation VR.
