Fling to the Finish is a fun cross between a 3D platformer and a racing game. It was developed by an indie studio SplitSide Games and successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter.
Mechanics
Fling to the Finish is a third-person game. We play as two characters connected by an elastic rope, racing our competitors on various twisted tracks. The duo who reaches the finish line first is victorious. We'll compete in such places as beautiful parks, giant casinos and asteroid fields, while the playable roster includes penguins, fish in a fishbowl, snails, robots, sheep and worms in apples.
The tracks are littered with traps and obstacles, in which our rope constantly gets tangled. Those who lag behind must also deal with such obstacles as plunger airstrikes and lasers. By working together with our partner, we can turn the rope from a hindrance into an advantage, using it to perform incredible feats of acrobatics. Skilled players can use it to swing over chasms or throw their partners onto high platforms.
Game modes
Although Fling to the Finish supports solo play, it only reaches its full potential in multiplayer. Said mode is both local and online, while willing players can even try playing with a single controller.
Technical aspects
Fling to the Finish makes use of a colorful, cartoonish artstyle.
