Flashing Lights is a simulation game where players can play the role of policemen, firefighters or paramedics. The game was developed by independent developer Nils Jakrings and released by Excalibur Games.

Mechanics

Flashing Lights gives us an open world in the form of a fictional American city with surrounding areas. During the game we observe the action from the third person perspective (TPP). The gameplay is based on the implementation of different missions, depending on which services we decide to join.

As police officers, we are provided with fast police cars, and our tasks include patrolling the metropolis and responding to the law being broken by citizens and answering numerous calls. In addition to giving out speeding fines or parking tickets, as law enforcement officers we are involved in the capture of criminals, which often involves the need to participate in spectacular chases and shootings.

Emergency medical services usually have to reach the accident site quickly in order to treat the wounded. They also transport victims to the hospital in their ambulances and make medical diagnoses. As firefighters, on the other hand, we not only extinguish fire with the use of specialized equipment on the vehicles' equipment, but also respond to other calls. Among them we will find both serious cases like the extraction of car accident victims from the wrecks of their vehicles, and somewhat more trivial cases, with the removal of frightened cats from the trees at the forefront.

Game modes

Although Flashing Lights allows you to play alone, the game spreads its wings in multiplayer mode. Players working in different services must work together and coordinate their activities to help citizens in need.

Technical aspects

The graphic design of Flashing Lights presents an average quality level, but does not differ from what other simulators represent.
