[1:14] Flappy Bird Flappy Bird - Flappy Bird is Back Trailer
Flappy Bird Description
Flappy Bird, released on iOS and AND, is one of the most famous games in the history of mobile devices. The title created by Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen has neither beautiful graphics nor advanced gameplay mechanics, but a simple idea and uncomplicated controls proved to be the key to success.
Mechanics
In Flappy Bird, we play the role of a small bird, whose task is to fly between pipes protruding from the top and the bottom of the screen - we get points by avoiding them. In theory, this sounds very simple, but in practice, it is extremely challenging. The player, tapping their finger on the screen of the device, makes the bird wave its wings, ascending a little bit into the air. However, after a while, the bird starts to fall again. Maintaining a straight line of flight is therefore very difficult, and the spaces between obstacles are narrow, so it is easy to make a mistake to end the game. Despite the high level of difficulty, the gameplay is addictive - it triggers the "one more attempt" syndrome.
Other
Flappy Bird was also famous for another reason. The creator, surprised by the enormous popularity of his production, decided to remove it from Google Play and App Store at the moment of peak interest (manifested, among others, by the creation of hundreds of clones). Among the reasons for this decision, he mentioned the fact that the game ruined his simple life. Nevertheless, after a few months, the title returned to the market.
