Finding Teddy for iOS, AND and etc. is a retro-stylized point-and-click adventure game developed as a joint project between Storybird and LookAtMyGame – two independent French developers responsible for the first installment of the series, as well as a number of smaller, independent projects. The game was released for PC and all three major mobile platforms.

Plot

The players take control of a small girl who is strongly attached to her favorite toy – a teddy bear. One night, a monster emerges from the closet found in her room, and kidnaps her toy to a magical world full of strange creatures and other curiosities. Without much ado, the girl follows the teddy bear and enters this strange dimension, hoping to retrieve and save him. There is only a single question remaining – will she be able to return to the real world?

Mechanics

Finding Teddy is a classic two-dimensional adventure game that plays in a manner similar to the cult-classic titles such as the Monkey Island series. The game is divided into three extensive chapters that see our protagonist traverse varied levels filled with demanding riddles and side quests. The heroine is accompanied by two friends: a useful fly that help her get access to seemingly inaccessible locations, as well as a moody cat that can access even the smallest fissure or a passageway.

Technical Aspects

The game is characteristic for its hand-drawn, pixelated visuals that are reminiscent of 1980’s adventure games. The PC version supports HD resolutions, all the while maintaining the low-res feel. Interestingly enough, the authors have foregone any dialogues, keeping the game oriented around numerous riddles.
