Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Description
Heavensward is the first major expansion for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, an MMORPG developed and published by Square Enix.
The expansion takes place in the city-state of Ishgard, a thousand-years old metropolis in which four noble houses fight for power. It is here where the story moves on, letting the players discover the role of dragons in the history of the game universe as well as the road that mortals can safely take to the outworld (without dying, that is). Apart from that, Heavensward offers various dungeons that float above the island and the mountains which are located outside the boundaries of the known world.
Heavensward also introduces a new playable race, Au Ra, which are humanoids distinguished by horns on their heads, tails and scales that their bodies are partially covered with. Moreover, there are two extra jobs to choose from: Astrologian (who heals and supports his comrades with magic based on cards with heavenly motives) and Machinist (that shoots his enemies with firearms and can deploy automatic turrets). There is no shortage of group challenges, either. The most prominent one is the Alexander raid, where they players have to destroy a living mechanical fortress from within. Heavensward also raises the maximum experience level to 60.
The graphics of the game remained unchanged quality-wise, although Ishgard is a place unlike any other so far visited.
