Fimbul Description
Fimbul, released on PC, PS4, etc., is an action-adventure game created by the Danish development studio Zaxis Games in cooperation with the German publisher EuroVideo. Fimbul has a comic book design and is inspired by Nordic mythology.
Plot
Fimbul tells the story of an aging berserker named Kveldulver. The hero travels through the snow-covered, frosty Jotunheim, controlled by Trolls and Jotuns, to find a powerful artifact. This object can stop the approaching Ragnarok, the end of the world during which the gods will face the giants in a deadly battle.
The plot of the game is non-linear and largely depends on the actions taken by the player. To emphasize this element, the developers have prepared the option to go back to the previous automatic saves, done at the key moments of the game. Thanks to this mechanic, we can check how the plot would go if we had decided to choose a different path.
Mechanics
The action is observed from an isometric projection. Combat mechanics are characterized by great simplicity, but a skillful player will be able to perform spectacular attacks. When developing it, the creators were guided by the maxim "easy to learn, hard to master". Kveldulver uses a diverse arsenal of weapons - their usefulness depends on the type of enemy encountered.
During the journey, the berserker encounters many other Vikings who can join him, and one of the keys to success during the clashes is the skillful use of their weapons and skills.
