Fighting Edition Description
Fighting Edition for PS3 and X360 is a collection of three very popular fighting games that are part of the legendary series Tekken and Soulcalibur. The pack was published by Namco Bandai Games.
Tekken 6 tells the story that is directly related to events that occurred in the previous entry in the series. Jin Kazama defeated his great grandfather Jinpachi Mishima and assumed control of Mishima Zaibatsu. Now only G Corporation, led by his father, stands in his way to achieving absolute power. As one could guess, Jin announces the sixth edition of King of Iron Fist Tournament.
The game features more than forty playable characters, including ones from Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and eight completely new fighters. Each character features unique fighting style based on real martial arts like karate, kung fu, judo, taekwondo, capoeira and kickboxing. The gameplay mechanics feature some novelties, including the possibility to parry jump attacks and the Rage System – when character’s health level drops to 5%, the wounded character becomes furious and is dealing much greater damage. In addition to that, the developers enabled the characters to perform additional special attacks with various items held in hands.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is the second installment in the Tekken subseries. The subseries focus on battles between two-person teams. Characters can switch during the combat and use new tactics that impact the way the battles are fought. The game features more than 50 characters that are well known from previous entries in the series.
The developers of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 focused on improving and expanding the tag mechanics. Now it is possible to perform tag throws, complicated attack sequences, secret combos and many other techniques. Many of these techniques are taken from previous entry in the series, Tekken 6. In addition to that, it is possible to interact with some objects on the arenas, for example by hitting a wall with enemy’s head.
Soulcalibur V is the fifth entry in the popular series of fighting games. This entry introduces a new generation of warriors. The game features more than 26 warriors, including many completely new ones. Being faithful to the tradition started in Soulcalibur II, the game features characters from other video games, including Ezio from Assassin’s Creed. This time the main protagonists are Patroklos and Pyrrha, the descendants of Sophitia. The story mode focuses on their history. They both had found themselves under the influence of Soul Edge and while one of them is fighting for the good, the other turns to evil. Siegfried Schtauffen’s outro in Soulcalibur IV serves as an introduction to the new events. He managed to defeat Nightmare and he made Soul Edge and Soul Calibur powerless for many years.
