FIFA 16 Ultimate Team for AND and iOS is another mobile installment of the most popular football game series by Electronic Arts, a company known for such productions as NHL, NBA Live, Madden NFL, and many other games unconnected to sports (e.g. Mass Effect and Need for Speed).

Yet again, the title is focused on the Ultimate Team mode which was introduced a few years back in the major installments of the series for PC and consoles. The production was released for AND and iOS-powered devices in the free-to-play model with optional micropayments. The game requires version 4.4 or newer of the OS in order to work at all and, apart from that, a high-end smartphone/tablet to run smoothly. The recommended devices include Motorola Nexus 6, HTC Nexus 9, HTC M8, the 2nd-gen Asus Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy S6, Sony Xperia Z2, and Sony Xperia Z3, among others.

Mechanics

Similarly to FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, FIFA 16 Ultimate Team for AND and iOS is a special, simplified version of the football game franchise and focuses on the Ultimate Team mode which is known from consoles and PC. We have the possibility to build our dream team whose players we chose from over 10 thousand licensed footballers from over 500 football clubs of 30 leagues from all around the world. Having devised the tactic, set the formation and the initial team composition (you have to pay attention to the “chemistry” between footballers), we go on to the competition, either watching the match or participating in it.

For the purposes of FIFA 16 Ultimate Team¸ the developers created a completely new match engine. Its most important features include the Enhanced Hybrid Controls system, which lets us control the events on the football pitch with both gestures and virtual buttons, improved artificial intelligence, and better animation (more special move, smoother transitions, more spectacular goals). Another interesting thing that was absent in the previous mobile FIFA games is the team celebration after a footballer scores a goal.

The game also introduces changes in the Ultimate Team mode itself. One of the most important ones is the possibility of trading players, who aren’t part of our long-term plans, and collectible cards that offer obsolete skills and bonuses. What we receive in return depends on the value of the set that we decided to dispose of.

Technical aspects

It is also worth mentioning that FIFA 16 Ultimate Team for AND and iOS offers better graphics. The developers managed to model the world football superstars more faithfully and give them their unique playstyle. Given the technical capabilities of mobile devices, the game looks absolutly brilliant.
