A mix of a sailing ship simulator and economic strategy embedded in an alternative, postapocalyptic vision of the colonial era - on Earth after the flood. In Feral Blue the player takes on the role of a sailor who gradually climbs along the career ladder, trading with coastal cities, taking part in sea battles and finally building and developing his own settlements.

Feral Blue is a hybrid game, combining solutions taken from action-adventure, RPG, and strategy games with arcade elements. Snowbird Game Studios is responsible for the development of the title - a team so far known mainly from Blood & Gold: Caribbean! and a series of turn-based strategies under the title Eador.

Story

Feral Blue tells an alternative version of history; the story of the game begins in 1699 when Earth fell victim to powerful sun flare that led to global warming on an unprecedented scale. As a result, ice caps on the poles melted, and the seas and oceans flooded gigantic stretches of land. The disaster, known as the Second Flood, led to the deaths of millions of people. Those who have survived were doomed to live on one of the hundreds of islands or sailing; one of these sailors is played by the player who gradually climbs up the career ladder, moving from a naval robber to an experienced captain and diplomat.
