FAST Racing Neo for WiiU is a sequel to the futuristic racing game FAST: Racing League which debuted in spring 2011 in the WiiWare service. Both games were developed by the German studio Shin’en Multimedia and they are the spiritual successors to the cult racing series F-Zero, installments of which were released in years 1990-2003 on Nintendo consoles.
Plot
The game takes place during 22nd century, when the newest technology allowed the spectacular races of modern, anti-gravimetric vehicles to became common. The discipline quickly became a worldwide passion and millions of spectators are watching the competitions between the bravest drivers on special tracks located in various parts of the world.
Mechanics
The general gameplay principles of Fast Racing Neo for WiiU aren’t different from the ones offered by its predecessor. The game offers a few futuristic vehicles of various parameters which are successively unlocked as one progress in the game. The races take place on various tracks located in different areas. The game also contains power-ups which can provide the player with valuable advantage over the opponents.
Technical aspects
In comparison to FAST: Racing League, technical aspects of which were of high quality, its sequel available on WiiU is looking even better. It offers very dynamical gameplay and fluent animation that works in 720p resolution and 60 frames per second.
