Video Chums: 6.2 / 10 by Mary Billington
Farmagia is a cute dungeon crawler that has you control dozens of harvested battle buddies at once. Although it may look like there's a lot going on, it gets repetitive quickly and it frankly didn't do enough to keep me interested. ??
TheSixthAxis: 5 / 10 by Reuben Mount
Although I genuinely applaud its attempts to try something new, Farmagia doesn't quite stick the landing for me. In fact, beyond the initial novelty of the mechanics, both the farming and the combat components end up feeling intensely repetitive with little to keep interest outside of further monotony. Once you add to these points uninspired visual design choices and predictable story elements, the game becomes very difficult to recommend to anyone but die-hard farming sim fans. Even then, it isn't bringing any fresh produce to the table.
LadiesGamers.com: by Paula Moore
With its mix of creature collection, strategic monster battles, and farming mechanics, Farmagia offers a unique experience for RPG fans. Despite its performance hiccups and dense tutorials, it has charm, though not every player will enjoy the fighting aspect of the gameplay. If you’re willing to push through the initial learning curve and forgive the occasional slowdown, Farmagia provides an experience worth investing in.
The main pros of the game
- Visuals and Art Style: The character designs by Hiro Mashima and the vibrant graphics received praise, making the game visually appealing.
- Story and Characters: Many players found the story interesting and the characters likable, even if they were somewhat cliché.
- Simple Gameplay Mechanics: The farming aspect is straightforward and not overly complicated, which some players appreciated as a refreshing change.
- Engaging Combat: Although opinions varied, some players enjoyed the combat mechanics and found them challenging and fun.
- Soundtrack: The music was generally well-received, adding to the overall experience of the game.
The main cons of the game
- Limited Exploration: Players criticized the game for its menu-based navigation and lack of an open-world environment, which made exploration feel restricted.
- Repetitive Gameplay: Many reviews pointed out that the gameplay, including combat and dungeon design, became monotonous and lacked depth.
- Combat Mechanics: While some enjoyed the combat, others found it clunky and overly reliant on blocking and parrying, which could be frustrating.
- Underdeveloped Farming System: The farming element was seen as simplistic and not fully integrated into the gameplay, often feeling like a side mechanic.
- High Price Point: A common sentiment was that the game did not justify its $50 price tag, with many suggesting it would be better suited for a lower price point.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users
- Open World Exploration: Players expressed a desire for a more open-world environment rather than the linear, menu-based navigation.
- Diverse Monster Selection: Many reviews noted the limited variety of monsters available for combat, with requests for more unique creatures and the ability to use more of them.
- Depth in Storytelling: While some enjoyed the story, others felt it was too simplistic and aimed at a younger audience, lacking complexity and character development.
- More Robust Farming Mechanics: Users wished for a deeper farming system that allowed for more interaction and complexity, rather than a basic item conversion mechanic.
- Enhanced Combat Variety: Suggestions included a need for more combat options, strategies, and enemy types to make battles more engaging and less repetitive.
Summary
- Overall, while "Farmagia" has its strengths in visuals, story, and combat for some players, it faces criticism for its limitations in exploration, repetitive gameplay, and high price, leading to mixed reviews about its value and appeal.

Farmagia Description
Farmagia is an RPG game with elements taken from agricultural simulators. It focuses on the adventures of heroes involved in breeding and combat training of monsters. The studio Marvelous is responsible for its development.
Plot
The world of Felicidad is a place where its inhabitants live in harmony with monsters and it was made possible by the ruler of the land - Magus Diluculum. With the death of the ruler, however, a struggle for power began, in which General Glaza took the lead, having hordes of evil creatures at his side. The main character of the game is a young farmer named Ten - he belongs to the titular Farmagia, who are engaged in breeding and training monsters. When the conflict reaches his hometown of Centvelt, our hero decides to use his skills to stand up to the oppressor together with his friends.
Gameplay
Farmagia is a third-person perspective game focusing on exploration, combat and farming. One of the main elements of the game is monster breeding, which in the initial phase resembles taking care of plants. We take care of the monsters, and when they grow up, we harvest them like crops.
The next step is training monsters, which allows us to increase their stats and unlock skills. During the exploration of the world of Felicidad, we acquire items that allow us to develop the main character's ranch. We also encounter Elemental Spirits - maintaining good relations with them can guarantee us additional types of monsters and new transformations.
During the game we participate in battles fought in real time. Classic attacks used in combat were replaced by orders given to groups of creatures we have bred (based on their numbers and special skills). The game also allows us to combine our monsters into a single powerful one, which is especially useful during battles with huge bosses. Besides the creatures we breed, we are supported in battle by Tena companions.
Visuals
The graphics of the game are supposed to mimic the anime style. Hiro Mashima - the creator of such manga as Fairy Tail, Edens Zero, Rave Master and Dead Rock - was involved in the development.
